This is definitely my favorite series. I absolutely love every time I get to go back into this world and join the Fraser's and others along their adventures. This book was among my favorites in the series so far; it picked up at the beginning and just did not stop the whole way through! There were several scenes that brought me to tears, including the ending. I cannot wait to continue this series!

Some favorite quotes from this one include:
Young women don't see - they are, and the spring of life runs through them.

A marriage is made not in ritual or in words but in the living of it.

Competent writing, good researching but too bloody long! And I still hate her pacing in the last hundred pages. I did appreciate that I could hear Hamilton playing in my head but Claire is still supercilious and able to fix everything ven in the eighteenth century and I don’t get bri and roger’s timeline. We didn’t need William at all and the same stuff keeps happening to Claire and Jamie! They’re walking targets and at some point, that doesn’t happen as often as it does to them. It’s just overly done and I skimmed a solid half of this book because it was extraneous.
