Not my favorite Wonder Woman trade, it was a bit messy and confusing, especially if you hadn't read the Rebirth Special beforehand. It's not the worst either, Steve and Diana were great together and it was amazing to see Diana in character after so long, but overall most of it didn't make much sense.

In full disclosure, I've never been a huge Wonder Woman fan, so I'm not well-versed in her story. I thought that this was pretty good, though. There's a lot of potential here, and, as usual, Greg Rucka does a solid job of writing female characters who kick butt. The creators of this story arc do a good job portraying Diana's confusion over her past and identity (which also serves as a recap for dabblers like myself), as well as the tenuous emotional situations between Diana and Steve, and Diana and Ann. I'm hoping that the forthcoming payoff lives up to the groundwork. The art is also above-average, and though still comic-book-looking, I appreciated that Diana was drawn very obviously without a thigh gap, and with muscles. It was also noticeable that there were several female characters of varying shapes, abilities, and alignments.

I am diving into the Wonder Woman comics/graphic novels. Though this is the first volume - it kinda throws you into the thick of the plot and assumes prior knowledge - that being said - I think I would have that with any of the superhero graphic novels.

A.) This is really well done
B.) I love everyone in this bar
C.) Steve Trevor taking on cultists and going "yeah no real men don't want that" is super great
D.) The entire premise of "Diana's entire backstory is so mixed up now that we need to spend an arc on just untangling the lies" is fantastic
E.) Diana using the lasso on herself to find her backstory

This trade was okay, just okay. I think the main problem with this trade was that my expectations were really high, and I was severely disappointed.

It started out really strong and I was looking forward to it. Wonder Woman thinks that someone is messing with her head, her memories and to top it all off she can't go home. It was after the first issue that things kind of go downhill.

Now, don't get me wrong the storyline as a whole is pretty interesting and definitely not what I was expecting (in a good way), but it just wasn't what I was expecting. Though I have to admit, the Cheetah storyline was intriguing and kept me interested I wanted to know more. Actually that plot point was the highlight of the trade.

The whole trade was pretty fast paced, and action packed which was great. Honestly that fight scenes where some of my favorite parts. The artwork and colors were gorgeous, I loved Diana's design in this and the jungle was beautiful!

Now, here's the plot point I didn't like: Steve Trevor. Actually, I'm indifferent about this plot point, I don't hate it but I don't love it either. When I talk about Steve Trevor, I'm talking about him as a soldier, because I liked him and his team in that instance. What I'm on the fence about is the romance. Toward the end of the trade it got real sweet and I wasn't feeling it. Maybe, I'm just bitter because I loved Diana and Clark together and she totally disregarded the whole entire relationship. Overall, I'm not impressed with the Steve/Diana relationship but that might change, who knows?

All in all, the trade wasn't bad, it just didn't met my high expectations. I will continue on with run, hopefully it gets better or my expectations get lower.
