i would like to read this in french. i think i will get the jokes a bit more. maybe i’ll edit my review. it was very witty still, in english, but i didn’t quite understand the hype. i will be back after i read the french version!!!

Voltaire you little freak!! This was very fun. What a fucked up story honestly but I really loved it. Kind of makes me think oh Ottessa Moshfegh I see some of your inspo…
It is gross and offensive and disturbing but also comical so if that is your cup of tea as it is mine I do recommend.

I read this over a decade ago and frankly didn't remember much about it other than thinking it was just OK. It held up better on a reread, and overall I quite enjoyed this short, fast-paced, engaging satire. I appreciated the quick chapters, and how briskly the plot moves along. Glad to have given this another go.
