I only knew Iron Man from the movies, and this was a decent introduction to the comic book version. I didn't particularly like the art and the story had its ups and downs, so I'm not sure if I'd recommend it. But apparently this sets the stage for modern-day Iron Man, so it seemed a decent starting point. Will not continue reading this series, but will probably pick up some other Iron Man issues to figure out what I like.

Finally a decent iron man book. At least the story is good because iron man is a bad person as per usual.

I really did not care for the digital artwork: lacked detail and depth. It reminded me of really early computer animation! The story was decent, but I really was not impressed. Very underwhelming. Also, turning Tony Stark into a robot/computer, I think, really detracts from the character - it takes away his humanity - which makes it really hard to relate to him. I always thought of Tony Stark/Iron Man as Marvel's Bruce Wayne/Batman. They are both men, very rich and intelligent men, but a men none-the-less, who both don suits to seek justice. Now, however, Stark isn't that man. He's become a machine doing the work that man once did. Sure, Extremis increases his abilities - but at what cost. Perhaps if the story somehow dealt with his issue rather than breeze past it, it would have been more engaging. Instead, like the new Tony Stark, it lacked heart.

Really enjoyed the story, however I wasn't a huge fan of the art.

Not as Warren Ellis as most of his stuff. Pretty good book which starts to make Iron Man relevant.

This started off good, but didn't really deliver. Plenty of bon mots in the writing, some nice dialogue, and nice use of flashback. But in the end the plot just lets everything down - it's just very dull and traditional (Iron Man fights new villain, gets beaten; IM upgrades armour; IM wins. Essentially it's Rocky III, and many others no doubt). Actually, it was all pretty good until the fighting starts - at the end of the day, I think Ellis is much better at writing Stark than he is Iron Man.

The painted art, though occasionally static (in a drawn-from-photo way), is pretty amazing though. Worth taking a look just for that.

Fun read, a modern update of the Iron Man origin with an added twist. This is the arc the 3rd Iron Man movie is supposed to be based off of.

Es el primer cómic de Iron man que Leo, y me ha gustado bastante. Es un Tony Stark atormentado por su pasado, o más bien consciente de él, que quiere cambiar su legado.
