Extremely dissapointing in how dissociated I felt while reading this.

Clearly, too sophisticated for my current attention span - I can’t help but be bitter that my dad didn’t let me read this at 15 (he considered it “too heavy”) when I was, in fact, about to enter the peak of my poetry phase.

“The moon is my mother. She is not sweet like Mary.
Her blue garments unloose small bats and owls.”

There are many beautifully written gems in this collection. I very much enjoyed reading!
