I really enjoyed this novel. The characters were very sensitively portrayed and the plot was intriguing and engaging, and also very distressing throughout. The ending was satisfying and no loose ends were left. One of the best novels I’ve read this year!

I enjoyed the mystery and the slow revelations. I also liked the character development. While I hated some of Patch’s actions, they did make since given his journey. The pace is slow, which I didn’t mind. However, I do want to mention in case you are more in the mood for a fast-paced mystery. 

After finishing, I went back to re-read certain key parts knowing the information I was missing when I first read it, which helped me understand the themes better.

The one thing I disliked were the short chapters. I feel like this made the story disjointed and repetitive in some places. This did not stop me from enjoying and appreciating the book.

WOW. The intricacies of this story and the various story lines wove together seamlessly. Everything I thought I knew was incorrect & I was surprised at almost every revelation in the mystery. This story is beautiful, terrible, emotional, and a wonderful depiction of how far we are willing to go for those we love. The super short chapters made it feel like I watching a movie and kept me engaged the entire time. Incredible read.
