The Stupidest Angel is a misleading movie trailer.
I will especially remember, with fondness, the winter attitude toward Californians by the remainder of the United States inhabitants. Given with contemptuous humor, it still rang true.
So much fun...it can be a Christmas reading tradition for me from now on.

Exactly what I expected from Christopher Moore, and possibly one of my new favorite christmas time stories.
Increadibly bizarre, very entertaining and very much a wtf-did-I-just-read book.

This book is definitely aptly named. It's stupid, alright. But as always with Christopher Moore, it's quite funny. This book got off to a bit of a slow start and I almost gave up on it, but it picked up around the second chapter and then it moved quickly and I laughed a lot. Moore does rapid and excellent character development - you get a real sense of this town and the people in it. The story is totally bizarre, even for Moore. He really went off the reservation with this one, but that's part of what makes it work.
This was definitely a fun, quick read, and a good one for me to have read during Christmas.

Do you remember the old Christmas specials they used to have on TV? The ones with the all-star casts of every big name from every popular show at the time? The Stupidest Angel is Christopher Moore's version of that. Only much funnier, slightly mad, and with zombies.

This novel is the epitome of what I love from Moore - what’s not to love about a Christmas story in Pine Cove with the gossipy undead, an accidental murder, a stupid angel, and a talking fruit bat? There isn’t always a huge driving plot in his books, but I think that’s where he can shine. I love the wild side stories and issues that arise in this, and it definitely made me smile a few times. There are a few one-liners and zingers that made me giggle and smile like an idiot.
We get to revisit some characters in this, as well as characters from other books, which was a treat. This was very crude and R-rated, so make sure you don’t gift this to an unassuming grandma.
If you’re looking for a fun, fast, festive read with R-rated laughs, look no further!
