WOW. this book was such a crazy ride. i have never read a murder mystery book before, but i do know that if they're anything like this one i WILL be reading more of them.
i won't lie, i was a little cautious at the beginning because of the age gap between the characters, but honestly that feeling went away very very soon. the relationship between sofia, and maddox was from the start so warm and comforting! and the relationship between maddox and sofias little sister, valentina, was so sweet. he was so protective and loving of the sisters and it was so giggle and blush inducing watching this man bend over backwards for the raymond girls.
i loved sofia more than anything. typically, when the fmc being stubborn and hardheaded is a big part of her personality, i get a little wary because sometimes it just rubs me wrong. but with sofia? i was like okay girl boss you do you!!!!! and did i literally laugh out loud with her describing her plan to avoid admitting she was in the wrong? yes. shes so me, like love that for her.
maddox brooks... the list of men i fall in love with is so long at this point like i'm tired but whew he made the list so easily and flew up it with each passing chapter. he was so tender and his dedication to the girls was so lovely. he literally is the standard.
and sweet valentina :( ugh i loved her. she was so adorable, and had maddox AND ME wrapped around her finger! like girl! i'll chase the monsters away for you too!
this book really took me on a rollercoaster ride. i was feeling so many different emotions, and had so many theories for what the ending would be. like poor Macy received countless dms from me in SHAMBLES like i was fully screaming crying throwing up laughing shaking during this. and the PLOT TWIST??? INSANE.
when i tell you the ending was something i never expected? im being so serious. it threw me. and the way she cleaned everything up so nicely? amazing. (okay except one thing but i have received word we will have answers.)

I wish I had the strength and the courage of Sofia.
