When I first stated reading it, I thought the beginning was boring. I book I read before this had a very different vibe right from the star, and this one was like a 180° turn, so I put it down. But leaving a book unread once I start, it leaves me with an icky feeling, so I picked it up again, and I'm glad I did!
I read it from where I left off, and it picked up the pace. The characters developed beautifully, and the plot twist was good, I totally didn't see it coming.
I don't give it 4 stars because of the rocky start, but that is a personal thing not a book thing

His glare was as dark as his soul. "I'm no whore." | whispered, close enough to his face that my breath was probably the last warm thing he'd felt before dying. “But I’m about to make you my bitch”

I have no words to describe how amazing this book was. It was truly an amazing experience from beginning to end, the characters and plots were magnificent.

For a book to be able to focus so much in both the plot and characters relationships without lacking in either of them, I applaud it.

When I read playing the part I realized what a great writer Macy was but this book absolutely showed her writing skills. As a Mexican immigrant it made me tear up and appreciate the care she put into representing us; immigrants older sisters. I loved seeing small details and nudges to my culture

¡Spoilers!

I that plot twist at the END! Omg I could not believe it !!!

The moment Valentina said anything I knew SHIT WAS GOING DOWN! The whole time I was guessing if the flowers as their names were middle names or nicknames and turns out it was their real name! The reveal that real monsters were Jack and Marcella was insane and it made sense of you looked back at the story. It just blew my mind how well planned and constructed everything was

Now let me tell you something… let me tell you something.. this was an absolutely SMASHING debut novel. Hats of to Macy because the way I devoured this, like ate up every second of it. This had so of my favourite tropes and every single one was done well, like every single one. Not a single critique for any of them.

I love a good thriller romance and this book was perfect, it balances between keeping the mystery and intensity going, to keeping you on the edge of your seat waiting for answers, to the soft sweet moments and even the intense emotional moments so well. It had it all. Plus the spice, the spice was so good! I had to sit legs crossed the entire time reading the smutty scenes if you want to know how good they were.

Sofia was a fantastic main FMC, she was strong, fiery and really was unapologetic about everything. She is who she is and no one can convince her otherwise. She was a complex character and I loved the way she was written, I really understand her and her motives through the whole story. Love love loveeeee her!

And Maddox omg, he is such a sweet and caring MMC but when he’s ready to be stern and take the reins he will. I loved him so much, every word that came out his mouth really made me melt, literally into a puddle on the ground. Especially every interaction this man has with Valentina he was truly made to be a girl dad. I loved how he also handled Sofia, he gave her room to speak her mind but also take care of her, communicate with her and I just love this man.

One element I want to highlight that I really loved most was the sisterly bonds between the main FMC Sofia and her little sister Valentina. As the older sister I related to this one so hard, the protectiveness and the feeling of being a parent to your sibling. Macy captured this perfectly and I loved it so much, I could relate to Sofia so much when it came to putting her whole being into protecting and loving her sister.

All the twists and turns with this book left me flabbergasted, I couldn’t piece a single thing together and the plot twists would take me out of orbit every time. I loved that we would get elements foreshadowed but not enough to guess what was going to happen. This is definitely a go into it blind read as this is such a fun book to just be trying to guess what’s going to happen next at every turn.

If you are wanting a book full of twists and turns that leaves you with all the feels then I recommend this to you! Pick it up, it is truly a fantastic read.

*Thank you so much to author for sending me an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.*

This book really tugged at my heartstrings. This book brought out emotions I wasn’t expecting and even made me shed a few tears. It had the perfect touch of detective work and mystery, and the way the drama unfolded was truly remarkable. Maddox was absolutely adorable—he was a complete sweetheart. Every thoughtful, considerate thing he did for Sofia made my heart melt.

The plot twist? Completely unexpected and brilliantly executed. I didn’t see it coming at all! I loved how everything came full circle and tied together so perfectly.

Sofia was a powerhouse of strength, and I found myself rooting for her every step of the way. She deserves all the love Maddox gives her. And then there’s Valentina—she played such an essential role, holding everything together. It really showcased the power of sibling love and how far we go for the people we love.

Honestly, this book was so well done, and even though I have a million thoughts running through my head, it’s just another example of why I adore Macy's writing. This was an absolutely delicious read!
