A magical school without professors and the kids go in knowing they'll likely die. Definitely not my usual thing, but I ended up fully invested after the first chapter. Already requested the second volume!

I wanted to like this book. I really wanted to like this book. The concept is great the main character is less than great. The deeply unlikable main character almost made me put this book down entirely. Also, the random info dump stream of consciousness felt disjointed. Maybe I'll try reading it again later but for right now I don't think I'll finish the series.
