This one was very cute and the characters and plot felt more fleshed out compared to Yours Truly. I’m glad I read the trio in release order, because all the full-circle moments with the different characters was so fun.
Overall a bit slow, but a good read. I was hoping for some turnaround for Amber, but she still was horrible. Happy about the progress for the FMC.

I soaked up every moment in this deeply emotional and relatable gem. The pov from an avoidant personality and ptsd, along with all the other mental health conditions depicted in each character, added a layer of texture and depth that pooled into every crevice of my heart.
This was my first time reading anything by Abby Jimenez. My God! What a wonderful book!
I was hooked from the very first page. I love a dual POV.
Being able to see/feel from both Justin and Emma added so much depth to the story.
Justin gave me green flag vibes very early on. He was described as a good friend, good brother, good son and all around good human being. And as the story develops you see that he truly is all that. He is thoughtful and intentional in everything he does, he’s honest with who he is, where’s he’s at and what he’s feeling.
Emma gave me a “carefree” vibe. Travel nurse, loves adventure and meeting new places and people, I mean, that’s the dream right? Also a good friend and a good daughter. But as the story goes we see that there’s more to it than meets the eye and she might not be as carefree as I thought.
This book talks about PTSD, trauma, abandonment, adoption, foster care and a few other very important issues. But it also talks about trust, healing, self care, friendship and love.
Life can throw some curve balls, but if we’re surrounded by the right people we can make it through.
Sometimes family are not the ones you share blood with, but the ones you choose!
Abby Jimenez’s writing might have become one of my favorites! Can’t wait to read more from her!

There was just a bit too much going on for me. But I loved most of it.
