This book is perfect. This is how i like my romance book. Funny, witty, greenflag bf, a story with real life problem you can relate to, i love everything in this book.
Not all Abby Jimenez books are created equal. One extra star only because it's fun to see the characters from different books come together, and because of the best friendship between Emma and Maddy.
okay where do i even begin ? this is so so so good and i think 50% of the reason why i loved it this much is because of the narrators of the audiobook, whoever you are !! YOU DID ONE HELL OF A JOB, especially Justin's voice when he mimicked everyone around him >>>
i love how Justin's mother who embezzled money is far far far better than Emma's mother, i also love Maddy being an anchor and getting her happy ending and i just like the whole vibe of it, my only criticism would be Emma was a little too much at times but i can get behind that ofc

let me just say that i am not the target demographic of this book and i didn’t realize it until i was a good of the chunk way thru it. that being said, i completely understand why a lot of ppl like this book, it just wasn’t for me. the humor wasn’t my taste and most of the time i didn’t care for the main couple when they were together being all lovely dovey or whatever, if anything i found the issues and setbacks they were going thru more interesting. that being said some of the things said and done felt very circular and obvious and dragged on for too long that i was just waiting for it be over. if anything i learned that i particularly don’t like books that distinct references to current modern day mentions like reddit and tiktok, so that’s fun to know ig
"Just for the Summer" intricately weaves a captivating summer romance amidst laughter and witty banter. It fearlessly tackles complex themes such as depression, mental health struggles, abusive upbringings, and the profound impact of death. Despite the weighty subject matter, the film maintains a delicate balance, never veering into melodrama. The characters' depth and vulnerability add layers of authenticity, making their journey both relatable and poignant. Overall, a compelling blend of heart, humor, and honesty, making it a must-read for those craving a summer romance with substance.
