Im glad to say i finally read one Abby Jimenez book and it broke me. It lived up to every expectations that I have. I have no words to describe it. And i am glad that it wasn't just your normal romance book. It had so many elements to it, and i love all of it. Especially Justin. Golden retriever material. And Maddy, i love her!! It would be disrespectful to give this anything less than 6 stars

It's starting to get incredibly hard for me to pick a favorite [a:Abby Jimenez|18446724|Abby Jimenez|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1651706989p2/18446724.jpg] novel, and I think [b:Just for the Summer|195820807|Just for the Summer (Part of Your World, #3)|Abby Jimenez|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1692118145l/195820807._SY75_.jpg|197775193] has now surpassed [b:Part of Your World|58684524|Part of Your World (Part of Your World, #1)|Abby Jimenez|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1634649284l/58684524._SX50_.jpg|90170665] for that number one spot. There are like a bazillion Easter eggs in this book, and SO many that I completely missed, even things that were right in front of my face. And not just from the other books in this series, but The Friend Zone series as well. It made me realize that someday soon I just need to read them all in a row with no interruptions and make sure I'm paying close attention. While there are very serious topics discussed in this book, there are also many hilarious moments including but not limited to the Toilet King references and amazing banter. Emma's friend Maddy is quite the bright (and grumpy) spot as well, and I loved her.

Christine Lakin and Zachary Webber narrate Emma and Justin for the audiobook and Jimenez herself makes an appearance for the Q&A at the end. As with every other book, I loved the audio version of Just for the Summer and fully believe it is the best way to enjoy this story. I love the Minnesota setting thanks to being from there, and the author always uses her fictional town of Wakan to her advantage. I bought the Target exclusive edition and adored the bonus chapter at the end which made me laugh and go aww in equal measure. The mental health rep is once again superb and appreciated, and the romance is exceptional. There are triggers included at the front of the book if you need them, but each is handled with care and respect. One of the best romances I have read all year and I recommend Jimenez wholeheartedly to everyone even if you don't think you like romance.

I received a complimentary copy of this book via NetGalley. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Came for the local author, stayed for the amazing writing and nuggets of wisdom from the characters. Checked this out from the library but am picking up my own copy so I can highlight my favorite passages!!

In the first few pages of this I thought to myself, “ok, here we go this is another variation of Good Luck Chuck, just a simple romcom, should be fun…” haha I was not expecting this book to be so… relatable, and it did start out very romcom style, with the MMC being so adorkably cute and the complete definition of “if he wanted to he would” - But as I read on and these characters developed, all the tiny cracks that build up over time with their traumas and complexities in life as it continues on, started to unfold. The realness in remembering that sometimes the people who hurt you most often times are the ones closest to you. This book isn't just a romcom/beach read, its about love yes, but its also about loss, and being brave and resilient in what seems like impossible situations. This is my first Abby Jimenez book, I will absolutely be reading more.

I was honestly really skeptical in the first half (wasn't a fan of the main characters/insta love), but I really liked the second!
