Älskar Astrid Lindgren. Denna bok är underbar. Älskar Rasmus och hans fina hjärta som bara vill hitta ett hem.

CW for book: N-word, not sure if edited out of newer editions/translations.

I hadn't read this story before even thought Lindgren was quite big part of my childhood. Saw the book on secondhand bookstore and decided to give it a go, and I was pleasantly surprised. It's a sweet story overall with good messages. Could have done without Lindgren's tendency to use racial slurs (in this case a few times in first? chapter when MC was thinking of slaves in America) - and yes, I know it was more acceptable when she wrote the books, but I will note it none the less because it still is hurtful to real people to this day. Otherwise, as said, a sweet children's story of a wanderer and an escaped orphan boy.
