I really wanted to like this but it just didn’t do it for me. I found parts to be repetitive and more than a few time it didn’t make sense to me. 3 stars because the storyline about a young black girl viciously murdered is heartbreaking and what kept me reading til the end because I want to know what happened to her.

Jordan, A black reporter is focused on a story that isn't getting the attention it deserves and that represents the MANY black cases that usually don't get the same coverage or attention that crimes involving white victims often do. We follow along as Jordan uncovers more and more about what really is going on.

I really enjoyed this, its a good crime/detective style mystery with a reporter instead of a cop, and it has great commentary on the black experiences and the sad truth that cases involving black victims just DON'T receive the same amount of coverage, care or respect as others.

This was a solid book and I wouldn't mind continuing the series.
