Use of antiblack slurs especially near the beginning. Descriptions of dead bodies and varying states of decay all throughout. Major themes of Christianity but it's of the folksy Americana flavor rather than institutional. A character overdoses on drugs, quite possibly on purpose. As is what seems to be a common trope in King's stories, a fat character is described as unhygienic, petty to the point of childishness, and obsessed with sex, then later becomes a major antagonist out of jealousy.
