I read all the Hardy Boys my grammy had, and some of her Nancy Drew books while my mom and I were staying at her house in New Hampshire. It was over the summer between 3rd and 4th grade (so each of these will be marked as read in July 1989). As an adult, I don't remember much about them other than I was unable to put each book down until I finished it. Even in 1989, this was still a fantastic series. As an frequent reader of YA, I'm tempted to pick one of these up again to see if it holds up.

Another amazing read, it seems like once I really start one I can't put it down till its done. I'm glad I don't have to wait for the next one to come out like most series now a days.

This particular novel follows the Hardy boys as they chase an outlaw through snow covered mountains and search for long lost gold. As with all the Hardy Boys books, this was a rather outlandish read, but it was a nice break from reality and quick to finish.

I must be getting tired of this series. Short read, but if I had a choice, I would prefer the Nancy Drew series.

This is very likely the last of the series the kid and I will read. I think the first book really withstood the test of time. Nothing really got lost in the almost 100 years since it was first published. We're finding it more of a struggle now though.

The story wasn't bad, but the 10 year old had it figured out fairly early on. He also wasn't a fan of the amnesia story that popped up towards the end. Neither was I really.

Still, it wasn't a horrible book, it just isn't great either.
