Definitely dark but I appreciated the approach that taking on the mantle of a super hero comes with baggage and doesn't rid you of your previous baggage!

Reviewing the first five issues on here. GoodReads doesn't have a page for the collection yet.

I've never been a big comics guy in the best of time. Batman is fine if it's a good story. Otherwise, I need there to be stakes besides just beating up the big bad super villain. Unless that villain is a suit wearing corporate thug. I can still do Green Arrow or Daredevil sometimes.

Black Ghost is in that vein and it's a good story of municipal corruption and how people looking to "save" cities always have ulterior motives. The lead character was interesting enough, even if she was too broadly drawn. But the action was good and I liked the deep dive into how capitalism breeds villainy more than falling into a vat of chemicals or being from a different planet.

I hope Segura puts out more of these. I wouldn't say I'd run to the store but I'd definitely check it out if I got my hands on it.
