"I don't know how to be. nothing that I'm good at is the sort of thing that matters there. being smart doesn't matter— and being good with words. and when those things do matter, it's only because people want something from me."

  • The Fangirl manga adaptation continues!! These are always so much fun to read as I love Fangirl, but haven't been rereading it as regularly as I used to. I love the art style here and Cath will always have my heart as I relate to her anxiety so much! The story always makes me feel protective of her, especially because we see people taking advantage of her kindness and only using her when it suits them! There's also the turmoil of her liking a boy - Levi - for the first time, but not knowing how to go about this, especially when she catches him kissing someone else.

Feels weird to keep rating these so I'm not going to, but once again let me state how obsessed I am with how Levi is drawn in this series. Also I feel like the relationship between Cath and her father is an element that I'm appreciating far more this time around.

So so cute!! I enjoy each of these more than the last. But I hate how long in between they are. I know I can always reread Fangirl, but I love the aaaartt. Can’t wait for the finale!

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for letting me read this one early in exchange for an honest review!

I'm liking these so so much! More than the og novel in a lot of ways (sorry, Ms. Rowell). I know I said this already, but since this is an Official Review, I'm going to repeat myself a bit: the graphic novel format is perfect for Fangirl! The visuals makes the Simon Snow bits more engaging for me, and also Levi was born to be a manga character tbh. Don't love that they all end on a cliffhanger, but oh well.
If you enjoyed the first two, this is more of the same. (and I mean that in the best way possible)
Volume 4 WHEN?? 🥺
