This will be one of the best fantasy books I've ever read. Based on Hindu mythology/epic, it takes one small bit of the Ramayana and expands upon the story, telling us about Kaikeyi, why she ended up banishing her stepson, and what led to her being reviled across the land. Honestly, any book that tells a deeper story than "the woman scorned" is super exciting to me. This is long, it's deep, it makes you think about family and loyalty. The deeper themes of misogyny, patriarchy, and friendship. Everyone must read this book.
Graphic: Death and Violence
Moderate: Sexual harassment
