I'm pleased I finally had an opportunity to read this book, revenge cruelty and mercy. Have to say I did think some of his actions were questionable. it is quite the tome and it took me a long time, there were times it dragged and there were times it just zipped past! The pacing of it did remind me of fan fiction, the way certain chapters would finish in a wee bit of a cliffhanger so you just had to immediately read the next chapter to find out what was happening.

I think I started this about 5 times over the last few years, but once you get past the prison part, it becomes really awesome.

Feel like the Count could have gotten his revenge a lot earlier, but after spending as long as he did in prison, I guess I can’t blame him for wanting to ball out in Paris for 200 pages before making his move
