Did not finish book. Stopped at 40%.
I hate that dnf'd books are in a special section so I will just write about them here anyway so I can keep track (and just specify if I didn't finish the book). I never used to dnf but I'm learning to allow myself to stop if it doesn't pull me in 40 %.
There wasn’t much plot to pull me in, I was confused at times like I couldn’t even follow what was happening. I have read worse books for sure, I just think this one is quite specific with the mixture of gore and heavy spice and even though I’ve read many questionable books this one just didn’t do anything for me. I don’t hate it, I just don’t particularly care about it, hence why I DNF’d, which I almost never do. It was very insta-lust, but I didn't feel anything, it felt too quick, out of nowhere. I think I would have finished it if the language didn't also put me off, cause then there were just too many things to power through and it didn't seem worth it. If you read it, check trigger warnings.
Edit: one of the final straws was description of decaying children, now I can deal with a lot, but I just have no desire to read about that
