Started as a quick fun listen with delightful English dialog about a professional declutterer. Then the story got all cluttered up with too many other issues. Also offsetting to hear the female character voiced by a male narrator.

Not realizing this was part of a series, I picked this up on a whim as I really wanted to read a cozy mystery. I wasn’t lost reading this second installment, and I got exactly what I wanted.

A cute, cozy mystery with a delightful main character and surprisingly poignant commentary about mental illness that hit home as someone who struggles with it myself. This was heartfelt to its core, and is a great read for someone looking for a short story with plenty of fun packed in.

This is #2 in the Decluttering series. I was not disappointed although much of the book is focused on character development, not on the mystery.

Book wasn't bad but I had borrowed it from the libaray and it was due and I wasn't that far into the book so I returned it and will maybe retry in the future but wasn't really feeling in the mood for it currently have been pretty slow and a little in a slump with my reading right now so I need something that will really pull me in.

I don't know if this book can be classified as cozy mystery but i don't care to be honest. It's poignant, emotionally charged and heartbreaking at times.
I'm used to think of Simon Brett's book as humorous but this one is totally different as it deals with depression, women abuse, gaslighting, dysfunctional families.
It's the second in a new series and I loved it even if it was quite unexpected.
Ellen is a great characters, she's the one telling the story and her voice is always matter of fact and there's no pietism or sentimentalism in this story.
There are some lighter moments and there's a mystery even if it often takes the backseat.
It's an excellent book and I loved the empathy of the author toward the victims and how he deals with the social issues.
Highly recommended.
Many thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for this ARC, all opinions are mine
