This book actually contains two sweet and fantastical stories. I thought Mrs. Harris and her best friend were charming and I love the settings. This is a quick and easy, feel-good read.

It’s a cute story from 1958 and 1960, but I found the narration excessively wordy in places less interesting than others that would’ve benefited from the detail. For instance, Mrs Harris spends almost half of the first book just trying to acquire the money for the Dior dress, but then Gallico glossed over the development of the romantic relationship in Paris that would have been fun to dig into.

The 5 stars are for Mrs. Harris Goes to Paris. Utterly delightful and charming.
I still liked Mrs. Harris Goes to New York, but not as much.

3. Paris- sweet, romantic, vivid, & inspiring. NY- less sweet but more of an adventure for Ada & is still well written!!!!

Two lovely stories about Mrs 'Arris, a charwoman, who goes on two adventures. Really light and enjoyable to read, filled with lovely characters.

Loved the latest movie which stars Leslie Manville and had a friend say she thought it was wonderful but different from the adaption starring Angela Lansbury and the book. This cemented my need to read it and see which is closest to the book.
No spoilers, but I enjoyed all three.
