This was fabulous!! One of my new favourites, I can’t believe it took me so long to get to this one. Lily Morton is my current favourite author in this genre - I have yet to read anything by her that I haven’t thoroughly enjoyed. I am absolutely so excited to read more by her because I just love her writing style and fabulous storytelling. I’m just so in love with Matt and John and I was so sad to reach the final page and have no more beautiful words left to read ❤️

I believe that this was Lily Morton's first foray into MM Romance. And it shows.

If this is the first thing you read by her, maybe you can't help but notice the almost erasure of bisexuality, misconceptions about gayness, abusive use of high profile brands and luxurious environments to denote that the characters are rich (achieving instead ostentation without taste, IMO).

If you notice all this, don't give up on the author, because her following books of the genre are infinitely better; her later books are delicious, in them the humor and the feelings that are already in The Summer of Us, are dazzling. To the point that Lily Morton is my most new favorite of mine and an auto-buy author to me.
