This was my first book by [a:Julie Olivia|19629846|Julie Olivia|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1610059234p2/19629846.jpg] and I totally fell in love with it! My expectations for Jasper & Wendy were very high since I read the tropes, the blurb and saw the cover, and Julie exceeded them all with the most tender, moving and beautiful story. Plus, the secondary characters are just as endearing as the main ones, so I can't wait to return to Never Harbor and read the next one of the Davieses!

Wendy goes straight to my list of favorite heroines. She's a first grade teacher who really loves and enjoys what she does, she has a kind heart, she's fun, dreamy, creative and I loved reading her defending her dreams, she has a difficult family situation, but the Davies adopted her as part of the family since she became Cassidy's friend and that relationship was strengthened with her relationship and subsequent engagement to Peter, and although things didn't work out with him Wendy is like another Davies, something that I really enjoyed about the plot of this book, but that also broke my heart because throughout Off The Hook we can see Wendy fearing about losing the love and closeness she has with her ex's family, which is also the only real family she has ever known.

Jasper is the eldest of the Davies, the grumpy single father, who decides to isolate himself from the rest so as not to be a burden and who has a hard time expressing what he feels, but despite all that, he is an excellent father to little Sam: the sweetest, wittiest, funniest and most adorable child I have ever read. What I liked most about Jasper was knowing how much he loves his family, his sweet, considerate and loving side with Sam, but also with Wendy, even when he doesn't really know what he feels for her, and everything he's willing to risk to keep her by his side, even when his heart and mind are plagued by insecurities about his fatherhood and other aspects of his life.

Wendy & Jasper have a complicated beginning: she's Sam's new nanny during the summer, but the constant coexistence makes Jasper see a different side of her, and vice versa, which leads them to develop a sudden attraction that puts them in a difficult situation due to the relationship Wendy had with Peter, Jasper's younger brother, also, like him, Wendy's past relationships marked her in a negative way, plaguing her with insecurities and making both of them question whether or not it is worth risking the union of the Davies clan for their feelings... but of course the answer is yes! because Wendy & Jasper are one of the most beautiful couples I have ever read, I really liked that they both found in each other the understanding, care and love they need, that Jasper can confide in Wendy the reason for her nightmares, find in her a place free of judgment and he also becomes her safe place, understanding her dreams, supporting her so she can achieve them and being the person that she always deserved by her side. In short, these two are one of the best couples I've ever read and I think I'm going to be obsessed with them for a very long time.

This one was cute and fun! I'm always looking for a grumpy single dad and a woman to come and sweep him off her feet.

Wendy just melted my heart. She is sweet, sunshine and kind. She loves big and with her whole heart, and is always thinking about those around her. Jasper is more secluded and tends to keep to himself. He is a bit growly and reserved. I adored how these two balanced each other out and just fit into each other's live so well.

The stolen moments and spicy scenes were just chef's kiss. The connection they shared was so beautiful. They saw each other's real sides.

I really enjoyed the epilogue. It was cute, and just wrapped up the story perfectly.
