I actually really liked the meta ness of this! Relived the mystery of it also! Only thing was the ending was somewhat underwhelming but it was a fun and fast read!

the twist with Leo tho??? The emails???? My god that was well executed

This book was very interesting. There were two plotlines (a story within a story).
You are reading the main story through the emails between the writer and her "beta reader".
I absolutely loved the duality, but the "fictional storyline" was extremely predictable. So, even though I loved the characters, I knew who the killer was too early on. That's my only complaint about this book tbh!
This book had very mild spice and definitely check the trigger warnings before reading!

A murder mystery within a murder mystery, this is a solid thriller. The real killer was hiding in plain sight and was so painfully obvious that I didn’t even consider them as a candidate. The characters are mostly likeable and diverse. The plot is believable. The end was good but arrived to with little pomp or circumstance. There are some glaring spelling/grammar mistakes throughout that are a bit annoying but all in all a solid book.

Holy cow! What did I just read? This book is a mystery novel inside a mystery novel inside a mystery novel. At first, it seems like innocent correspondence between two authors, until halfway through the book. I was so surprised and was really hooked from there on. I'm so curious about the last line. A lot of room left for your imagination.

I would've read this in one day if I could, but I also didn't want it to be over! The novel features a group of oddball people who become friends, all while keeping secrets from each other. It continuously kept me guessing, and in the end I wasn't right!

I enjoyed the two narrative structure. I laughed and smiled and genuinely thought some moments between the couples were cute, which made it even more suspenseful to know someone/s was hiding the truth.

The only thing that didn't quite work for me was the ending. It was abrupt and I was left unsure how to feel.
I read one analysis that Leo is ultimately a mirror of his real life counterpart, which I can accept and like, but even so, it felt ill-paced.
