This book. This. Freaking. Book!

Seven Days in June is one of my favourite books so I was excited to read a YA book by the same author. Imagine my surprise when the main character Audre turns out to be THE Audre, Eva Mercy's daughter! I was shook and my excitement skyrocketed! I'm glad I didn't put two and two together, I was so happily surprised!

I equally loved this book as I did SDIJ. The characters, experiences and emotions all felt so real. It may be a new adult/young adult novel but it's still relatable for the reader. It was an emotional rollercoaster getting to know Audre & Bash and see how their summer plays out. I didn't want to stop reading but also wanted to put it down as I couldn't take what might happen next.

This book is funny and fresh, it's gut-wrenching and tugs at your heart, it's real and honest. Getting to see the lives of Eva & Shane was such an added bonus. I would've enjoyed it if they weren't involved but it elevated that much more for me!

Tia Williams, you've done it again!

I can always count on Ms. Williams to write a book that’ll pull me out of a reading slump and Audre & Bash was just what I needed!

Seven Days in June is one of my all time favorite books and getting to step back into that world through the eyes of Ms. Audre Mercy-Moore felt so good!

Audre is still as precocious and funny and interesting as ever, and being in her head and seeing the world through her lens was fun and nostalgia-laden, remembering what it was like to fall in love as a teenager, have a crush, fall out with friends, and feel like your parents are your enemies. Watching Audre stumble through the summer before senior year was tough but also beautiful, as she discovers more about herself through making mistakes and getting out of her comfort zone with the help of Bash.

Cinnamon roll softie Bash, I just wanted to wrap in bubble wrap and keep him safe. What a sweet guy experiencing larger than life emotions that comes with a rocky home life and finding the person that makes everything feel worth it. I wanted to box his parents for their treatment of him but I’m so glad he has Clio and Audre who understand and see his heart. The banter between A and B was so good and funny, and I loved their text chains. I could’ve read 10, 15 more chapters of their exchanges.

My only wishes is that there was an epilogue where we could see what senior year was like for Audre, her college admissions decisions, balancing her therapy business with Bash, another heart to heart with Eva, and her being honest with her dad. But for a YA novel, it was really enjoyable.

OHHH MY SHAYLAS😭😭😭
TIA WILLIAMS YOU DID MY (FICTIONAL) NIECE’S STORY JUSTICE AND THEN SOME.

I don’t know if this story was pre-planned or written to satisfy fans of Audre's sharp wit in Seven Days (me) . Regardless , this was a vital end-piece to themes explored in Seven days in June while deftly balancing the needs of William’s YA audience .

I’m twenty —meaning I was literally a teen a year plus ago — but Audre and Bash are Just Friends made me feel like I was a teenager again. Messy , terribly cringe and melodramatic
, carefree yet painfully self-conscious (all in an endearing way) It was pure magic from beginning to end .

I love when publishers invest in the production of an audiobook cause this was top notch ! From the narrators, Jordan Cobb and Torian Brackett, whose chemistry was electric with the duet narration , to the notification pings whenever Audre and Bash would text . There was a lot of care taken , making it one of the best audiobooks I've ever listened to.

Thank you Hachette Audio for the ALC!
