First off I want to say I think this book may have gone through editing Hell, but still quite bad.
Also a main character is named Sarah and the boat that they have this huge mission on is called Sera, good luck Audio book readers!

Needing a bit of a horror fix, I picked this one up. Typically, deep water creature features tend to be of the B-movie quality so I wasn't expecting to be overwhelmed by Leviathan: Ghost Rig. Which is a good thing because it was absolutely as suspected! What exactly DID I expect, you ask? (Well, you might not be asking but you are in for a treat because I'm still going to tell ya!)

One doesn't read monster books for the richly realised characters but it would be good to do a bit more than stock your novel with thin pastiches of people from better works.
Also if you're going to have human antagonists, they need actual motivations. This book fails both those requirements and frankly the monsters aren't interesting or entertaining enough to make up for it.
