This is not traditional by any means so beware. The artwork lends to the chaos and insanity of the asylum and the darkness that surrounds Batman. The overall feel of the book, dialogue, layout, and style really puts you in the mentally ill mindset. I think that alone is what makes this book brilliant. It forces you to try and focus through stylized views and language that causes confusion and tension on purpose. I really enjoyed this very short take on the Joker/Batman relationship and the overall quick tour of Arkham Asylums most notorious inmates.

Not going to rate it because honestly I didn’t understand the plot. I missed a lot of symbolism and had to repeatedly go back to the script to understand what was going on. It made me feel dumb.
I shouldn't have read that so close to bedtime. I'm totally going to have nightmares. But it was so worth it.

i think i enjoyed reading the script in the back of this edition more than the comic itself, which was also brilliant. i just love when writers explain what they’re trying to convey, and discuss the minute details that no one else knows.
