#1 New York Times bestselling author Ilona Andrews once again pulls readers into the dark and dangerous world of the Kate Daniels novels in this reader favorite, previously published in the anthology Night Shift...

Shapeshifting tigress Dali Harimau may be a powerful healer and magic user, but she’s far from what might be called “normal”. She dislikes the violence and bloodshed that are a way of life for most of her kind, even going so far as to become a vegetarian. The last thing she wants is trouble...

Jim Shrapshire is an original, hardcore badass. A jaguar shifter, he’s been tasked with keeping Atlanta’s Cat Clan in line, which he does with swift and lethal force when necessary. His only soft spot is for the petite Dali, whose kindness he calls upon when he is injured.

When Dali is approached by a desperate woman whose grandmother has vanished, Jim is concerned enough to help investigate. But what they find may just be the end of them—an enemy whose skill in the dark arts is matched only by their willingness to kill anyone in their way...

Short and sweet...another glimpse into the lives of Jim and Dali, with a twist of cultural adjustment. Entertaining light reading...perfect for when you're home with a cold.

If you can make Jim give a somewhat kind of a smile you must be one amazing lady. Dali is the best thing that could have happened in Jim's life. I would love to read more about this couple and be able to witness Jim's badass mask come off. Short, with some action and mystery thrown in because this is Atlanta after all, and a happy ending.

** Originally read in [b:Night Shift|21857389|Night Shift (Kate Daniels, #6.5; SPI Files, # 0.5; Psy-Changeling, #12.5; Barbarian, #1)|Nalini Singh|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1401507231s/21857389.jpg|41130558] **

We are taken back into the Kate Daniels world with Jim and Dali. This is in Dali's POV. If you have not read [b:Magic Dreams|13627865|Magic Dreams (Kate Daniels, #4.5)|Ilona Andrews|https://d2arxad8u2l0g7.cloudfront.net/books/1397416627s/13627865.jpg|19233926] (Kate Daniels #4.5) you might be a little lost on the relationship between these two, since they hook up in Magic Dreams.

We get to see Jim and Dali dating and Dali’s fears that she is not powerful, aggressive or sexy enough of a women shifter to be an equal to Jim. Jim shows Dali that she is everything he needs and that them becoming mates will not hinder him, but make him more.

I loved following these two around as Dali does her magic thing again. She is one special white tiger. Jim I love him. He see’s Dali as so much more then the skinny vegetarian who wears glasses.

This was a fun read and I always love diving back into the Kate Daniels world. The writing team of Ilona Andrews are just Fabulous. If you have not picked up this series it’s a must!

This novella shows what Dali and Jim were up to while Kate and Curran were in Europe.

I love the world, of course. I like Dali and Jim fine, but Dali is kind of obnoxious and Jim is kind of flat.

Also found in the night shift anthology.

I love Dali. I love her as a foil to Kate. She's magic-based, more insecure, but just as much a badass. I really wish she was in the main series more but I love seeing the way she solves the mysteries in the novellas and maybe that would get lost if she was just a KD-sidekick.

I'd say this story is actually necessary for being who want more of Dali and Jim. I loved Dali earlier in the series and was sad to not see her later on. This story puts us in her head and it's a very fun, interesting adventure with our favourite cross-eyed tiger.
