I HATE this book. I was really disappointed because I've read other Anita Shreve books and absolutely adored them. And then this monster came along. The writing in the first 2/3 of the book is AWFUL! How necessary was it to use two adjectives for every noun in the book? I wanted to stab my eyes out. I couldn't even finish this horrible book to get to the plot twist that really frustrated those who actually made it to the end.

Beautiful lyrical writing, an unexpected ending that gave the book much more depth and I found it very intriguing. Definitely unique in that the story is told backwards and has unexpected twists. It made me want to go read more by this author!

One of my favorite books of all time. Romantic and sappy, but I love it!
