This is definitely among my favorite, if not my favorite, mystery series. Even though I remembered almost nothing from the previous books after waiting for the next one to be released, the way it is written adequately reminds you and fills you in on what happened in a way that is gradual and not info dumping. The one thing I have against the way it is written is that it is occasionally difficult to remember who knows what between the two different timelines. With information being revealed in the past that the present characters are not yet aware of, it can be frustrating realizing that you know what happened and the characters solving the case do not yet. I am still a fan of the characters and had not been able to guess who was the murderer. While I am excited that the series is going to be longer than I had thought, I am interested to see what book 4 will be about, considering both the present and past cases have been wrapped up and solved.

SPOILER WARNINGS

The plot twist at the end was quite disappointing BUT it makes sense. I did enjoy reading this one. The second one is my favorite tho! Like most of the people here, Nate is MY FAVORITE CHARACTER. I was so sad because we didn't see much of him in this

Wild how this ended and I still hate David. I hope he gets killed off for Stevie’s character development in future books lol.

Kinda sad that Alice’s full identity / story remains a mystery for the public. I wish Stevie had said something like “once the money has been released to the school, maybe I’ll write a book on the case and dedicate it to the professor”. That would have been a nice touch whilst still keeping to her wish to leave the money unclaimed.

Also wow, I had to set the book down for several minutes once we found out what happened to Alice. Too sad. Inevitable perhaps, but still.

I’ll be looking forward to more books with Stevie Bell.

Ok. But I honestly though
that Alice was alive and had gone with Frankie to Paris
