It didn't make much sense to be honest, but the drawings were nice I guess. There just didn't seem to be much thought put into this world/story/characters. I was confused about many decisions characters made or situations they ended up in. I won't be continuing this series.

A solid start to the series, and engaging enough that I’ll definitely keep reading on, but there was anything that REALLY stood out to me. I like the overall concept, just a little bored by all the macho-y dude knights swaggering around and swearing their undying commitment. The ending promises a bigger adventure and I hope that turns the plot into something more exciting.

I honestly wasn't expecting too much; I thought it looked just like a dime a dozen historical gender swap manga, but I was pleasantly surprised! Even just in one volume, Freya saw an amazing amount of growth and there were twists I didn't see coming. I am definitely looking forward to reading more so I'd say I'd recommend it

Review is for the whole series! Read at your own risk!!

Read 4 volumes

This was REALLY good! I didn’t expect that! ‘Prince Freya’ follows Freya, a young peasant girl who has a startling likeness to her country’s beloved prince. Through a series of events, she assumes the prince’s role and must navigate court politics and survive.

So I love Freya. She’s smart and strong (whether she realizes or not) and stubborn. I didn’t realize this manga is rated older teen, so the violence startled me but it was so good. The story is so good! I can’t wait for more!!

I read this with one of my favorite people on stream today.
This series gives me vibes of both Yona of the Dawn and Requiem of the Rose King. This is a political fantasy about a girl named Freya who takes the place of a prince in order to save her kingdom from ruin.
I really really liked this story! It put me through the feels. The art is fantastic, and the characters are so well done. I highly recommend picking up this series if you like a good political fantasy!
