An interesting first volume. Too fast-paced. A lot happens, basically all very terrible: there's a near gang-rape, a very sick mom, a murder...I like Freya because she cries so easily, which reminds me of myself. It's just all happening too quickly.

If you plan to read this, GO IN BLIND I beg of you. It's much more impactful that way and emotional. It is a lovely take on a European-inspired medieval story. A definite recommendation if you need the drama, the knights, adventure, and heart pulling. A beautiful debut!
