My heart breaks for Shatter. She’s had such a hard run and things are only going to get worse for her. Even with her insecurities and her blind naive hope, I find her to be a charming character.

Despite Dusk’s very glaring and obvious flaws, I actually liked him and I liked the dynamic between him and Shatter, I thought Mackay did an excellent job in writing the dialogue between the two.

I also enjoyed Shatter and Umbra together, but their relationship wasn’t the main focus for this book and I’m hoping to see more in the second. I’m really looking forward to seeing how things develop between the pack and when we get to officially meet Ransom.

I’m excited to see how things unfold, especially between the two packs.

This was Deliciously Dark.

I like Omegaverse and I like dark books. They are rarely found in 1 book and this was book 1 of 3. This was the right amount of dark and left me thirsty for more. So for me the second and third book can't get here soon enough, because I need to know what happens next! Like yesterday....

Shatter is a damaged, Gold Pack Omega who has no memory of her life before she was 19. Shatter believes that her only hope of joining a pack is if they are her scent match.
Having met the pack she believes are her match, she runs away to join them at the academy, there she is intercepted by Dusk before she can meet them. Having never wanted an Omega before, and wanting Shatter, Dusk takes Shatter home where she meets Umbra, his brother and all sorts of incidents ensue.

This book was a great start to Marie’s next instalment of the Poisonverse Noir. I’m a massive fan of Marie’s writing and this did not disappoint. This story is split into 3 and I’m very happy that the second instalment is due in Feb, with the third following shortly after in March, so we don’t have to wait long.

Looking forward to reading more about Shatter, Dusk and Umbra and a possibly shared (?), troubled past, as their memories return and I can’t wait to read more about Ransom, I have a feeling that he’s going to steal my heart

Where do I start? Ill start with Shatter. A beautiful, fractured soul, who is determined to reach her scent matches. But of course she is thwarted in her attempts to become their Omega, by an Alpha that fires her up in anger like no one else. The push and pull between Shatter and Dusk is delicious to read. Umbra, the other Alpha from Dusk's pack, calls to a different part of Shatter and their interactions are a bit more in sync. Living with the wrong pack, constantly trying to get to her scent matches, Shatter is adorable in her brattish behaviour. I cant wait to find out more about these 3's mysterious pasts, the third Alpha Ransom and what the heck these guys are up to. Scent matched be dammed, Shatter has the perfect broken Alphas to make a sexy forever with!
