This book started off great, very atmospheric with a sense of true terror. A spooky forest that seems to have a mind of its own with dangerous monsters you can't see? Careful reading at night! However, as the book BEGAN to end, the pacing grew odd and sluggish at times. I couldn't put this down in the beginning, but the end had me wishing the book was shorter.

I struggled to understand the character's motivations sometimes but loved reading about them nonetheless. This is definitely a combination of plot and character-driven as you are also focused on the plot itself.

I enjoyed this far more than I was expecting to, despite figuring out the big twist early on. It was well written, genuinely spooky at times (had me looking out my dark window multiple times, lol) and the characters were well flushed out. 

It read like an M. Night Shyamalan movie, so I'm excited to see the film when it comes out.

there are a few plotholes that don’t get resolved but i absolutely loved this!! ive seen some criticism on the pacing but i had no trouble with it at all and never found myself bored. read it in two sittings and absolutely flew through the last 50ish pages. and maybe im just an idiot but the plot twist had me Gagged

This was so much fun omg. I loved the concept and it was so perfectly eerie. The pacing could’ve maaaybe been a little better but it didn’t really detract from my enjoyment at all. The ending left me wanting for a lot more though 😭 I’m so glad the yellow one existed in this universe, it was the sweetest touch and made me happy in moments that were really tense

I was very intrigued by the book. I am always looking for new horror authors and this sounded really interesting. Unfortunately I found it a bit meandering. Often the tension would build and build just to fizzle out. It was pretty frustrating. I wish the middle had been a bit longer and a bit more tense. The ending was pretty cool though.
