4.5 STARS
I really enjoyed this sweet and steamy romance.
It has all the things I love about small town romance plus a bit of suspense and a dash of mystery.
Hadley and Calder are interesting and very likable characters.
They were friends growing up and Calder introduced Hadley to high octane, adrenaline rush sports as an outlet for her when she needed it most.
Life pushed their friendship apart for awhile, though Calder is a firefighter and Hadley is an EMT (in their small town) so work has kept them in each other’s periphery.
Flash forward to the present and circumstances bring them together again. This time they are older, more mature and possibly ready to be honest about their attraction and real, deeper feelings for each other.

Both have family issues that are complicating their lives. It’s a big part of the story and it played out in interesting ways, it kept my emotions involved and my interest.
There’s also some scary and disturbing things happening that kept me on the edge. I loved the suspense and the intrigue.
I loved Hadley’s fearless nature and I loved the steadiness and understanding nature of Calder.
It is great balance for their relationship.

Calder’s twin daughters are absolute scene stealers! They are immensely adorable, smart and bring heartwarming moments to the story.
Family, friends and co-workers make up the secondary characters that bring both heart and complications to the story.
It was a full, enjoyable story with lots of warmth and made me feel all the emotions.
The suspense was great. I loved all the characters and their interactions.
It has a great cozy small town vibe with the excitement of romance and the spine tingling suspense.
I loved it and I’m excited for the next story in the series.

listen...listen...listen...i'm normally a little iffy when it comes to brother's best friend trope. HOWEVER, this is one of the best versions of that trope that i've read in a really long time! I laughed, I cried, I almost threw the book, cause of some characters! I still wasn't prepared for the emotional rollercoaster I felt for Calder and Hadley throughout their story. I just--I loved it!
