This was such a delightful historical romance and another great addition to the series! I was entertained by the banter between the Venus and Galahad, and the plot was well balanced between being while having a lighthearted feel.
If you’re also a fan of historical rom coms, I’d definitely recommend you check out Never Wager with a Wallflower.

A special thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Publishing Group for an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Prepare for a charming tale of love, laughter, and unexpected connections. Never Wager with a Wallflower by Virginia Heath transports readers to the glittering world of Regency London.

Meet Miss Venus Merriwell. She has been waiting for her prince charming since she was fourteen. Her ideal man isn't just any suitor. He must be selfless, scholarly, and free from the vices that plagued her gambler father.

Meet Galahad Sinclair. He’s a man whose life revolves around gambling. Fate brings him to London, where he sets up a successful gaming hell in the East End. When he acquires the perfect building for his dream establishment, he discovers it's right next door to an orphanage… run by none other than Venus's family. Can these two adversaries take the ultimate gamble and learn to love their neighbour?

Heath tells a delightful enemies-to-lovers romance, full of sweet moments, complex characters, and witty banter. This is the third and final installment of the Merriwell Sisters series, and I was unaware of this beforehand, but I was not lost in the story and have not read the other two books in this series.

Heath crafted an engaging historical romance. The story reads like a warm cup of tea on a rainy day: comforting and impossible to put down.

Thank you to NetGalley and St. Martin's Press for a temporary e-ARC in exchange for my honest review.

This story took me forever to get into. I read one of the others in this series and liked it, but I didn't enjoy this one as much.
The one I read before seemed a lot more comical and silly, and the characters had a ton of chemistry and tension with each other. This one didn’t feel as good. They felt more like friends than love interests. This one just wasn't for me this time around.

I just wrapped up "Never Wager with a Wallflower" by Virginia Heath, and I gotta say, it's a charming rollercoaster of regency romance! Venus Merriwell, our selfless academic wallflower, is on a quest for love while juggling the chaos of a bursting orphanage. Enter Galahad Sinclair, a gambler with dreams as big as his gaming hall in Covent Garden. The clash between them is as entertaining as it gets, especially with the mischievous orphans adding their own flair. The found family vibes and witty banter hooked me in, and the rival-to-lovers trope was brilliantly executed.

However, my excitement took a bit of a hit with the ending, which felt a tad rushed. I wanted a bit more depth to tie up loose ends. That said, if you're into historical fiction with a healthy dose of romance and love the antics of side characters, this Merriwell Sisters series is a must. I'd give it a solid 4 stars and definitely recommend reading the series in order to fully savor the delightful journey.

I enjoyed this one but not as much as the rest of the series.

I didn't love that they went from dislike to liking each other so soon. I think it was in part because there was no reason for them to dislike each other and it felt quite unrealistic for them both to just be like yeah that cool we're over it. I think it also had to do with the intent MMC had behind making ammends. That folllows through to the confilct, which I get. If I had been FMC I also would have been annoyed and hurt but I just felt like it dragged on for too long and didn't make that much sense in the grand scheme of things.

I did enjoy seeing the series wrap up and this was an enjoyable read, just not as much as the others in my opinion.

Great conclusion to the meriewell trilogy. I’ve enjoyed all the books and each sister’s story they only got better as the books went on. I also liked how the stories continued in each of the books and the relationships were still mentioned. Wasn’t sure how I was going to like this couple going into it but I ended up loving them. It was nice to see all of the stories wrap up.
