That was a piece of a good book. Loved how the author made a fasctinating thriller and page-turner also a methaphor for system racism - I hope it makes many people new to the subjects of priveledges read the novel. The complexity of the system she created suprised me - didn't expect it to be so detailed. However, there wasn't much new info about racism for me - not really for people who look for a book that will educate them when they have a base knowledge of the topic. Nonetheless, a big recommendation from me!!

Sinister and sadly familiar. A bit heavy-handed at points but a fantastic read. I wish Chiamaka's classism was explored further as well as her + Devon's friendship! Excited for what else Àbíké-Íyímíde comes out with.

A twisting plot with a strong portrayal of institutionalised & systemic racism's many branches and pervasive reach. I still can't believe this is a debut, I'm excited to read more of Faridah's work.
