some of it is very well written and some of it i was a bit bored by…i think she perfectly articulated how it feels to be a brown woman trying her best in a world where white women are applauded for bare minimum. her relationship with the man she wants to be with is very similar to my best friend’s current relationship, which makes me sad. i hope she knows that she deserves better.

i'm not a fan.

ok so occasionally there are some very good sentences which resonate - but mostly this is a book that is caught up in the trope of "weird shit gets good reviews because it's a bit like sally rooney on pills".
