there’s a lot that I really enjoyed about this book but i find it hard to rate! some parts really spoke to me and cut me… other parts were more reflective but as its literary fiction and not plot based, it’s hard to gauge what is just par for the genre or not

Did not vibe with how this story was told sadly. The timeline confused me with the way it would jump around, plot wise I feel like nothing happened, and also all the characters weren’t great? I did however like a lot of the parts talking about white feminism, and the criticisms of the influencer. But the style just wasn’t my vibe.

I've seen a lot of reviews talk about the political commentary as being good even if the MC is deeply flawed and hard to like but I think those screeds are connected? The politcal asides are just as flawed as she is, and she uses them to wiggle out of personal accountability and to justify her actions/opinions, to my interpretation. Like its not "damn this girl is a mess but she kind of has a point?", thats just her toxicity spinning the story for you. Just something I hadn't seen a lot of other reviews bring up.

she's a fan, she's a fan, she's a fannnnnnn

this woman is a hater at her core and you can tell. I thought the premise of the book was pretty interesting: female main character is obssessed is essentially hate following another woman on social media but she secretly (or not so secretly) wants everything that she has - including her man. female main character ends up in a cheating romance with the woman's man despite her being in a relationship herself. It's good ole fashion mess.

It's short and sweet but rather entertaining and I'd definitely read more by this author.
