I enjoyed this one more than the first! I will definitely listen to the next installment.
Everything there is to love about the first book and more! Cannot get enough of Bartimaeus.
The 2nd book in this series is darker and more complicated in regards to the ethical choices of the characters. The first book was light and fun. The second book has added depth. Now onto the third…
I liked this one better than the first. I got into it a lot faster, and by the end, I couldn't put it down. I think that was due a lot to the addition of Kitty's perspective. I loved Kitty, even though it really bugged me that she couldn't see the flaws in the Resistance and in Mr. Pennyfeather. I really wanted Kitty to step up and do something for herself, which she finally did.
Nathaniel is still infuriating. He's kind of a snotty brat, and I wanted to smack him upside the head. He has good tendencies, but he's so concerned about being successful in the world of the magicians. I just want him to pull his head out of is butt and realize how corrupt his precious government is. Hopefully that will come about in the third book.
Bartimaeus, as usual, was the best part. He's so snarky and sarcastic, and I love it.

3.5 stars, not as good as the first book but enjoyed some of the new characters. The ending wasn't entirely satisfying but i'm guessing things will be resolved better in the third book!
this one starts of reaaallly sloooow...but when it picks up, it casts its spell of immersion.
Finalmente inizia a succedere qualcosa.
