I'm so glad I've found Naina Kumar! I loved her first book, and was cautious it was a one time occurrence, but no. I loved this one as well, and even more! Characters that have inner traumas and struggles have always been my favourite part of romances, and this is a wonderful example of that, written in a way that just broke my heart and then put it back together.

I've never been much interested in second-chance romances but this one worked perfectly for me. How past and present was intertwined, revealing more and more how they came together and were pulled apart. Starting from shortly before middle of the book, I was bawling my eyes out on regular basis, I just hurt so much for their love and how they hurt each other just because they let their insecurities and inner pressures lead the way. And how they worked through it all, got to know what's been behind each other's actions.

Looking forward to new books from Naina!

2.5/3?
The premise of this book had me hooked, and I LOVE second-chance romance—the pain, the yearning, the hope, the realizations, the love.

However, the execution fell flat and repetitive. Almost the entire book revolved around miscommunication. Although the author did a good job of establishing why both characters would have trouble with basic communication, I really struggled with Meena and Nikhil's lack of growth and self-reflection... Maybe if we had gotten Nikhil's POV? Idk.

Overall, it was sweet, and there are some really good parts. I really enjoyed how the past was woven into the present in the writing. But there was no real depth to the characters, either individually or as a couple, and I just... I was expecting more. More development, more growth, more talking... just more.
