After reading and loving Hannah Reynold's debut, The Summer of Lost Letters, I was thrilled to learn that she was releasing a holiday romance based around the Barbanel family once again. Though I liked her debut better, and this story took me a minute to get into, I had so much fun going back to Nantucket with the Barbanel family.

The main reason why I wasn't as invested in this book compared to the first is because it felt much more YA than The Summer of Lost Letters. Shira was only a year younger than Abby, but she felt much younger and much less mature than a sixteen year old. And that might've been the point, because Shira went through some solid character development--development that definitely gave her some more redeeming qualities towards the end. It just took a bit longer than I would've liked to get there.

Other than that, everything else about the book was a lot of fun! The romance was sweet (if not, again, very YA, though that's to be expected from a YA book), I loved the unexpected addition of another Barbanel family mystery, and I enjoyed getting to learn more about Jewish traditions. It was also fun to get to spend even more time with the Barbanel family and getting updates on characters from Reynolds' first book.

Overall, if you're into YA romance and you're looking for a sweet, quick, cozy holiday read, I definitely recommend picking this one up!
