No entanto, a narrativa infantil demais me incomodou.

I can’t lie, I’m a bit disappointed. I wanted to like this way more than I actually did, but I guess this just wasn’t the book for me.

The setting was honestly very beautiful and the plot seemed quite promising from the start. The issue for me was the characters. I wasn’t really able to connect with any of them, and the story moved along so quickly that it all felt too rushed and stitched together. I think if this was longer and gave us more time to go deeper into the characters I would’ve enjoyed it more, but unfortunately that wasn’t the case.

The romance was quite cute, but it all happened rather quickly and did feel kinda insta-lovey towards the end. There were definitely some cute moments that I enjoyed, but overall it wasn’t what I had hoped it would be.

This book was EVERYTHING. I crave books like this where it’s a light and fun rom com with nothing too sad and tragic happening. I finished it in a few hours because I was hooked and needed to know what happened. I haven’t seen these beloved tropes done with queer characters often and I hope we see more in the future.

it was okay, cute, but nothing special. go watch young royals! also i listened to lana and mitski the entire time i read this so that might have affected the rating

Okay so Flora is kind of a bitch and if she’d done what She did to Millie to me, I would be smacking her rather than kissing her and that’s me being honest.

I loved the quick wit, the brutal honesty and the genuine nature of their relationship. I loved that Flora is every bit the princess, but is still what every little girl fails to see a princes being, human. She makes mistakes, she has genuine flaws and her quick tongue is just as shocking at her Cold persona.

I feel like I missed something and didn’t miss much at all in reading this before the first book, but that being said I don’t feel like I missed much in the sense of who Millie and Flora were, just more background in the dynamics in Floras family.

I honestly don’t know if I’d continue and read the next companion book, but I’ll always be glad I read this little gem, even if it did end far too quickly.
