{Pros}
- The MC Millie was a nice point of view to read from. I liked her personality and related to her.
- Sakshi was so fun and such friend goals
- Sakshi and Perry
- The only reason I like this book is because the audiobook made it slightly more fun with the different accents.
{Cons}
- Plot? What Plot?
- I felt extremely disconnected from the story, as if I didn’t care about the things that were happening. I was indifferent. Maybe because the character motivations weren’t explored enough perhaps. The reasons why everything happened were very flimsy and sometimes a stretch to be honest.
- Wow did I profoundly hate Flora. I didn’t think she could be that bad until she almost killed herself and Millie in that forest challenge, then she lost all relatability.
- The book was trying really hard to excuse Flora’s behavior. There were no real consequences, as much as they tried hard to make it seem like there was.
- Even if the book says otherwise, yes being an excellent shot and knowing about fashion is part of Flora’s personality no matter how she became good at the them, or the circumstances why she became good at them.
- The romance didn’t start until about more than half way through the book and I would have been ok with that if they weren’t professing their love by the end of the book. One moment they were in the beginnings of a budding relationship, learning about each other, then they suddenly break up, and then they love each other out of no where; it just didn’t make sense.
- Scenes that could have solidified their relationship more, like important conversations were just passed with a mention, merely glossed over. This added to the detriment of the credibility of the relationship.
- The ending was so abrupt. I was like, “That’s it?!
{Conclusion}
I had somewhat high expectations because wlw roommates, enemies to lovers sounds like a dream come true, but sadly the execution was less than stellar.
