I really hated the ending. Book was good until the end. The princesses should have been the one to try and get her back, definitely not the other way around

**4.5**

This was a fun Sunday read. "Scottish boarding school" meets "my roommate is a real life princess" meets "enemies to lovers". Felt very fanfiction or like the perfect script for another Christmas movie (even though it's not necessarily Christmas-y).

Cute and fluffy but without much substance overall.
I would have liked this story to have spanned a larger time period and dealt with more Princess and American and Flora and Quint issues.
Princess Flora’s mother’s not understanding that Flora being lesbian is not ‘just a phase’ is also swept under the rug and although Millie has anxiety surrounding her name being mentioned in tabloids thanks to her friendship/relationship with Flora she makes a public Romantic Gesture to end the novel - which includes declaring her love for Flora, something she was unwilling to disclose to Flora’s brother in the privacy of her dorm room - but just a few pages later changes her mind completely and announces she is in love with Flora in public.

Won’t be rereading. 2 stars.

This book was touted as a lesbian Red, White and Royal Blue— hence my interest— but I’m sad to say that it didn’t quite hit the mark for me.

It was enjoyable, sure, and the stakes were low and the relationship between Millie and Flora was front and centre— but it felt very shallow and YA, and I didn’t feel like the novel progressed anywhere. If anything, it felt too short for any of the characters, sub-plots or locations to be properly fleshed out.

I’ll admit that the last couple of chapters were largely skim-read, so that I could finish the book and never go back to it.

2.5/5

This book was SO CUTE! I loved every minute of it!

Even though the misunderstanding-as-a-conflict trope was a bit…well, it was just what you’d expect from an overused trope. But my love for the rest of this book makes up for that little misstep completely!

I will admit the ending was a bit rushed, and the book could have been a bit longer to flesh it out better, but it wasn’t bad, and I can’t say I disliked it all that much.

I enjoyed the writing and chapter lengths! The chapters were short, which is always preferable. The dialogue seemed very authentic to me, or at least it felt natural. I really liked the writing of this story!

9/10 I would definitely recommend!

They are so fricking cute. I appreciate the pacing
