Freida never fails me and is always the perfect cure for a book slump. I should’ve known to read one of her books a while ago to get out of the slump I’ve been in!
Freida always brings all the plot twists and man did she bring them in her most recent release of The Teacher. Whenever reading one of her books I’m skeptical of every character in the book, but still come out of it shocked! The Teacher was a fast paced read that keeps you entertained from beginning to end. Frieda does an amazing job at writing one of her main characters, Addie. The way she wrote her and her dialogue truly sounds just like a young teen and how they would think.
This book touches on some sensitive topics, but doesn’t get graphic with details.

I find this topic deplorable. It made me want to vomit every step of the way. The only thing I didn’t see coming was the first plot point with Addie’s dad, Addie, and Hudson. I saw everything else coming. I don’t know why this topic is even written in as a story. It’s quite disgusting that a 40 yo will think that way honestly about high school students. I called the relationship between eve and Nate from the beginning with how her relationship is with her parents.

Not a huge fan of the relationships in this book, not a typical theme explored by Frieda so I wasn’t entirely prepared for it.
Noticed a few writing patterns from her other books. Typically Frieda’s twists shock me but this book was fairly predictable, the only thing I didn’t see coming was
Jay’s true identity
.

I really enjoyed this book even though I hated all of the characters. I wanted Addie to stand up to the bullies and wanted her to open her eyes to the bullshit spewing from Nathaniel's mouth. I wanted to smack Eve for being such a nasty bitch. I wanted Hudson to step up for Addie, but in the end I was just disappointed with who he was. The characters were all so interwoven and evil in their own ways. Could not put it down. Another Freida McFadden winner.

I have so many bones to pick with this book.

  1. Snapflash... that's it
  2. NONE of the main characters were likable
  3. There were so many plotholes in the ending it made me mad (AGGGTM series spoiler warning ⚠️:
    especially after reading As Good As Dead, that's not how you get away with murd3r
    )
  4. Why was every single character so stupid?!
  5. The ending ahshdjsj

Ugh, definitely not my favorite Frieda McFadden book. I will say I liked the audiobook narrators!
