Zastanawia mnie, dlaczego Znak wydał tłumaczenie tłumaczenia. A, no tak.

This is a good book. The story is interesting and the characters are truly believable. The book flowed well and kept your interest the whole way through.

I really hoped the ending of my book was cut off or something. Otherwise, the ending was terrible. In general, the book was pretty good. If you're looking for an action-packed crime novel, this isn't so much that. Instead, it's a character study with a slow, psychological mystery at its core. The major problem with it is that it drags at times, but I thought the characters were generally pretty well-done, and watching the plot slowly unfold was satisfying.
The second Sejer mystery was structured much differently than the first as it includes the criminal's point of view as much, or more, than Sejer's. It was a good change and kept things interesting. Fossum's Sejer is a deep and well rounded character who has flaws but great strengths and is the guy you would want investigating a crime you have a stake in - unless, of course, you're the perp. :)
I gave it an 8/10 on my personal scale.

Though this is the second book translated into English featuring Norwegian Detective Inspector Sejer this was really more of a psychological suspense tale than a police procedural. The actual plot is a bit weak but the book really shines with its insights and descriptions of characters with mental illnesses.
Interesting scenario, and a good read -- but where's Inspector Sejer? He seems missing from his own series in this installment.
